We’re Praying for Fresh Life Church
One of the things we like to do at Resurgence is equip, encourage, and pray for pastors and leaders in various churches around the world. This week we are glad to introduce you to Pastor Levi Lusko and Fresh Life Church in Montana.
The first time I met Pastor Lusko was over dinner in Seattle some years ago. He asked good questions, and has since asked a lot more questions about how to organize the growing church he founded and leads, which meets in multiple locations.
In more recent years, Grace and I have enjoyed our time with the Luskos, much of it while also hanging out with our mutual friends the Lauries. If you’ve been to a Harvest Crusade with Greg Laurie, then you’ve probably seen Levi leading from the front throughout the evangelistic event. Levi has a big heart for lost people to meet Jesus and is also a verse-by-verse Bible teacher in a local church. In a lot of ways, he’s like his pastor, Greg Laurie. I rejoice at their friendship and wish more young pastors had that kind of support.

Not only has the Lusko family enjoyed some amazingly encouraging ministry moments, they also have felt a grief that no parent wants to experience. They lost a beautiful little girl, Lenya, just over a year ago around Christmas. I can still remember Levi calling seeking some pastoral counsel around the holidays, and it was an honor to be there for a great brother in Christ.
We love and appreciate the Luskos, and he did a great job for us speaking at the R13 Conference last year in New Mexico, where his brother is also a pastor. As a young man with a beautiful family and a lot of experience in life and ministry, we pray that Jesus has big plans for our friend.
Jesus is at work in Montana
Fresh Life Church is multi-site church located in Montana. Pastor Levi and several other Christians relocated there with the goal of making Jesus famous, and they started the church in 2007.
For many, Montana doesn’t normally come to mind when thinking of places to start new churches. It doesn’t boast of any major metropolitan areas, the economy is largely based upon the agricultural industry, not software development, entertainment, or banking. Why Montana? “If you or someone you know figures out the answer to this question, please let me know,” says Pastor Levi. “Looking back I suspect the thousands of people that have come to know Jesus in the last [seven] years in Montana have something to do with why God sent us here.”
Pastor Levi has simply taught the timeless truths of the Bible.
God has worked through this group of pioneers, and today Fresh Life Church has five campuses with plans to open a sixth in the next few months.
In connecting to the timely needs of the people of Montana, Pastor Levi has simply taught the timeless truths of the Bible. No gimmicks. No tricks. “We simply taught the Bible and had worship and lifted up the name of Jesus, and we found attraction,” he explained in an interview with the Christian Post.
Jesus' work of redemption is written upon the lives he has changed through his church. One member shared, "My life feels full, my marriage is even better, and my son loves it. I never realized that no matter how many steps I was taking from Jesus, he was only one step away, the entire time." Another member expressed their gratitude to have an opportunity to surrender their life to God, exclaiming, "Such a big weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and I can finally breathe again."
Join us in prayer for Fresh Life Church
Fresh Life Church desires “to see people who are stranded in sin find life and liberty in Jesus Christ.” We asked the church how we could be in prayer for them as they follow Jesus’ mission:
- Pray that community, friendship, and accountability would form as their church does life together.
- Pray for all of the planning, preparation, and people working towards opening a new campus in Bozeman, Montana. And most of all, pray for many lives to be changed by Jesus through this new location.
- Pray that their new broadcast, Fresh Life Radio, goes smooth and that lives are changed for Christ through the radio station.
- Pray for their program O2 Experience. Pray that people will make decisions for Christ and commitments to purity through the program.
