Heeding the call to resurgence

Resurgence » Mission Worldviews Church History Culture

Yesterday, Pastor Mark was at Mars Hill Albuquerque speaking at a pre-conference luncheon for R13

We were honored to have been able to host 250 people—many of who traveled hundreds of miles to be in attendance. There was an amazing display of unity in Christ as people from various backgrounds came together to worship Jesus, hear his name proclaimed, and learn how to respond to the shifting cultural changes in America.

Pastor Mark took part of the warm and dry afternoon in Albuquerque to address the new challenges Christians will face, how the church has been ko’d, and the important role of fathers in the family.

There was a time for attendees to gather, connect, and band together.

Pastor Mark’s forthcoming book, A Call to Resurgence, officially debuted during the luncheon.

A special thanks to the many volunteers who donated their time to help serve.

During the luncheon we had the opportunity to chat with a few of those in attendance. Here’s what Marcos Figueroa, Sr. Pastor of Catalyst Church, had to say:

I was taken back at Pastor Mark's comments that as Christians, our bell has been rung and that we aren't paying enough attention to the culture around us…It was confirmation for me that there is a fine line we have to walk, as Christians, to never compromise the truth yet still love with the love of Christ.

Donovan Medina, Lead Pastor of Mars Hill Albuquerque, led a time of worship.

The place was full of ministry leaders from the city and around the region to connect with one another and hear from Pastor Mark Driscoll.

When asked what he took away from the luncheon, Jon Wheeler—Lead Pastor at East Gate Foursquare Church—said:

I loved the way Pastor Mark described the lack of the father role within the church. He refreshed the importance of paying attention to the culture changing around us that is attacking our generation.

Regardless if you made it to the luncheon or not, we hope to see you November 5–6 at the 2013 Resurgence Conference.

God is Faithful. He has called you. It's your move.
