Joe studied Biblical Literature at Northwest University and pastored at a church replant in Seattle for several years before coming to Mars Hill Church in 2012. At Mars Hill, Joe serves as the Manager of Leadership Development, while also serving as a pastor at Mars Hill Ballard. His role finds him overseeing the development of interns, deacons, and elders across all Mars Hill Church locations. Additionally, Joe serves on the board of Vision Nationals, which has equipped nationals to plant over 500 churches throughout Southeast Asia. Joe, his wife, Lauren, and their two kids live in Seattle.
